The EUNAVFOR action has included the transfer of the last known position of the fishing boat to the Somali police forces.

The World Food Programme (WFP) ship MV Douro has an embarked Autonomous Vessel Protection Detachment (AVPD) aboard to ensure her valuable cargo of food-aid is protected en route to Somalia.
During its 14 years of existence, EU NAVFOR Somalia – Operation Atalanta, along with its partners in the area, managed to build a widespread network and set up efficient procedures in order to ensure the safety of the Sea lines of communications to guarantee the safe flow of navigation of vulnerable vessels transiting the area.
The MV DOLORES is one of the ships contracted by WFP to deliver food to different cities in region. From the beginning of March 2024, it is the turn of the Croatian AVPD. The protection of WFP shipments is paramount for EUNAVFOR ATALANTA.
