Dosage/Direction for Use. Epilim oral Adult Initially 600 mg daily then increased by 200 mg at 3-day intervals until control is achieved. Dose range: 1,000-2,000 mg daily (20-30 mg/kg), may be further increased to 2,500 mg daily. Childn >20 kg Initially 400 mg daily w/ spaced increases until control is achieved.
Indications/Uses. As analgesic & antipyretic in conditions accompanied by pain & fever eg, pain associated w/ cold & flu. Analgesic for dental procedures, teething, dysmenorrhoea, musculoskeletal pain, headache, toothache, sore throat & migraine.
Doses are administered via slow inj at a rate no more than 100 mg/min. Intravenous. Patients with haemophilia undergoing dental extraction. Adult: 10 mg/kg as a single dose via slow inj at a rate no more than 100 mg/min immediately before tooth extraction, followed by 10 mg/kg 3-4 times daily for 2-8 days. Oral.
Adult: Symptomatic relief of pain, burning, urgency, frequency, and other discomforts that arise from irritation of the lower urinary tract mucosa caused by infection, trauma, surgery, endoscopic procedures, or the passage of sounds or catheters: As phenazopyridine hydrochloride: 200 mg tid.
Doses are given via slow IV inj or via IM inj if IV administration is not feasible. Doses >50 mg must be given via slow IV infusion. Max IV infusion or inj rate: 4 mg/min. Dosage recommendations may vary among countries and individual products (refer to specific product guidelines).
Mechanism of Action: Methylergometrine is an ergot alkaloid. It increases the tone, rate and amplitude of uterine contractions which shortens the third stage of labour and reduces blood loss. Synonym: methylergonovine. Onset: 5-10 minutes (oral); 2-5 minutes (IM). Duration: Approx 3 hours (oral/IM).
Tab Adult & childn >6 yr 1-2 tab 3-5 times daily. Inj Adult & adolescent >12 yr 20-40 mg by slow IV, IM or SC several times daily. Max: 100 mg daily.
