Antipater I the Idumaean (Biblical Edom) (died 43 BC), was the founder of the Herodian Dynasty. Judah Maccabee’s nephew Hyrcanus I actually forcibly converted the inhabitants of Idumaea to Judaism in the 2nd century BC.
