Most of the shops in HK do not accept USD, though the exchange rate is fixes as 1 USD = 7.78 HKD and I think you can get some HKD beforehand for the taxi fare and Octopus card. In fact you can also withdraw extra HKD if necessary from ATM with your credit card / debit card + handling fee.
5 years ago. Please suggest how much HKD will be sufficient for 5 days in Hongkong for a family of 4 (2 adults,2 kids). Hotel, airport transfers, entry tickets for Disneyland, ocean park is all done. Will be travelling in September. Moreover, is Octopus card helpful and are there any ATMs to withdraw cash @ the Hongkong airport ?
