Legal terms. How does Airbnb respond to data requests from law enforcement? The following information is provided for law enforcement entities that seek information about users of the Airbnb platform (i.e., would like to submit a “Law Enforcement Request”).

How identity verification works. We require primary Hosts, Co-Hosts, and booking guests to be verified for all stays on Airbnb. Certain Airbnb Experiences may require identity verification as well. Verifying your identity means verifying certain personal information, such as your legal name, address, phone number, or other contact details.
Effective date: June 6, 2024. Overview. In general, cancellations and refunds for Airbnb reservations are governed by the listing’s cancellation policy. In the rare circumstances that large-scale events prevent or legally prohibit completion of a reservation, the Major Disruptive Events Policy (the “Policy”) may apply.
This can be done directly with the local authorities—or at the accommodation by the Host on behalf of the authorities. In other words, if you’ve booked a stay in a region where this applies, a Host of a bed & breakfast, hostel, hotel, or other accommodation on Airbnb might request this registration from you.
Host damage protection, part of AirCover for Hosts, reimburses Hosts up to $3 million USD in the rare event your place or belongings are damaged by a guest during an Airbnb stay. You’re reimbursed for certain damage caused by guests to your home and belongings if the guest does not pay for the damage.
