  3. I would not try to buy a non-Chinese namebrand laptop in China, or even a Lenovo as the prices will not be great. Also, average price? There is a huge range depending on specs. However, a friend bought a Benq-brand laptop that was very nice for 6,000 RMB.

  4. From my research in the last six months, the Lenovo Thinkpad X220 prices in China were around twice (2X) the price in the U.S. Similar discounts are available in Hong Kong. This research was before the launch of the X1 ultralight Thinkpad recently in the U.S.
