From my research in the last six months, the Lenovo Thinkpad X220 prices in China were around twice (2X) the price in the U.S. Similar discounts are available in Hong Kong. This research was before the launch of the X1 ultralight Thinkpad recently in the U.S.
You buy it in the USA. Price are far lower than in China, and I compared them model for model, gig RAM for gig RAM. I am comparing university and student discount pricing in China with normal sale and "preferred customer" (anyone can be one) terms in the US.

But for Lenovo, for example, I am informed that "Think" branded Lenovos (Thinkpad laptops, Thinkcentre desktops) have international warranties, where other-branded Lenovos have no such coverage outside the US (if you buy in the US).

4 天前 · Just wanted to share my opinion from a recent trip. Oh and I’ve been to London 4 times since the mid 1980’s. My main point is that the Uber drivers , we had 3, were not good and I use Uber in the states, where generally they’re good. London is hard to get around from a driving point of view and the taxi drivers are well trained.
