If the weather permit, I'd like to take 3 day trips from Tokyo to Nikko, Tokyo to Kamakura and Tokyo to Hakone ( or the Fuji five lake area). Or even 2 out of those 3 places.
2024年4月29日 · Bus from Hakone Yumoto to Hatajuku is 41 min. According to NaviTime, it's 7.9 km from Hatajuku to Moto Hakone. 2 hours 8 minutes. Boat from Moto Hakone to Togendai is about 30 minutes. Ropeway from Togendai to Sounzan is 45 minutes, without stopping anywhere. Cable car from Sounzan to Gora is 11 minutes.
2024年4月30日 · Apr 30, 2024, 5:58 AM. I would say as soon as you are able to (i.e. your plans are firmed up), especially if you want specific hotels or locations. On booking com, a large number of hotels are book and pay at the property. That's what I did, it also allowed me to change my plans very late and even when I was there.
2024年5月9日 · 1. Re: Does even going to Hakone make sense for family of six adult. May 10, 2024, 6:09 AM. For most travellers an o/n in Hakone would suffice. Add 1n if interested in museums. As long as you arrive at Hakone Yumoto before 11am, there is ample time to complete the Hakone round course.

If 7 kilometers on a rather "flat-ish" terrain in the mountains -- not climbing up except at the beginning for 1 kilometer -- takes 2 hours and 20 minutes, then it's perfectly believable that 7.9 kilometers will take 2 hours and 8 minutes!

Re: Skymark - cannot book. -calling Japan on Skype costs $0.026 USD per minute. I use this when traveling in case I need to call the local hotel or car rental company, in Japan or any other countries.
