2015年9月11日 · 作為G系列的中階產品線，新一代G7延續類似單眼相機的設計，擺脫了前一代圓潤的造型，機身有剛毅的線條，配備可3吋180度翻轉螢幕及畫質更高、更精細的OLED電子觀景窗，且搭載眼部感應器，當臉靠近時，能自動從LiveView切換至電子觀景窗（編按：其實不只有臉，其他東西靠近的時候也能作用。 ），當然亦可依據自己拍攝的狀況，透過觀景窗旁邊的Fn5切換「LiveView/觀景窗/自動偵測」三種不同模式。 儘管乍看之下頗有單眼之姿，但拿起時的重量輕巧許多，就算是女生單手也能輕鬆拿起，不成負擔。 握把處的蒙皮與流線凹槽設計，就女生的手來說，握起來剛剛好且穩固。 這次G7機頂快門處及右後側採用雙滾輪設計，大大增加了操作的直觀性，再加上配備多顆自定義功能鍵，也能根據習慣快捷的叫出對應功能選單。
