    2023年11月9日 · 移民顧問公司AWVisa的創辦人William Lai向《SBS廣東話》表示，是次改變明顯是放寬了482簽證類別的持有人申請永居的資格。 他指，如獲得僱主擔保的港人，只要工作2年便可申請永久居民，比起「香港簽證渠道」（Hong Kong Stream）需3至4年才可申請永久居民更快。 他認為，如果不想再進修，或認為透過「香港簽證渠道」移民太久的港人，可考慮此方法，「多條路可以揀」。 但他亦提醒，要找到僱主申請482簽證亦不是容易的事，。 他解釋，法例對僱主亦有要求，包括要合法成立、正在經營，亦有可能要證明僱主未能找到符合資格的本地人才，才向海外勞動市場尋找合適的人才，再加上有特定的手續和費用，對僱主來說亦是成本。
