ツァン・キンワー（曾建華）は、香港を拠点に北京、パリ、ニューヨークなど世界各地で作品を発表し、数々の国際ビエンナーレで脚光を浴びてきました。 ツァンは、文字を使ってユニークな作品を制作します。 美しい花や葉が壁紙の模様のようにデザインされた作品をよく見ると、それがアルファベットや漢字で描かれており、挑発的な文章が浮かびあがることに気づきます。 2009年より展開している《七つの封印》のシリーズは、暗い部屋の天井や壁に文字が投影される映像作品です。 ここではさまざまな文字が生き物のように動き回り、増殖し、雷雨のように激しく飛び散ります。 聖書をはじめ、政治、哲学などあらゆる観点から得られた言葉を通して、ツァンは存在や価値観に関する根本的な問いを私たちに投げかけます。
