2008年1月31日 · Japan Question Forum: Porter bags in Ginza. I agree, I think Porter bags are very overpriced for what they are. In Tokyu Hands you can see virtually identical, well-made bags hanging right next to Porter bags for a third of the price.

2015年8月31日 · Retail business is as usual until 30th Dec, short trading hour on 31st Dec, mostly closed on 1st and 2nd Jan, but, some shops open from 1st Jan in Akihabara and Asakusa. I would visit Akihabara on 2nd Jan. You can expect a little discount about 100 Yen per shopping. Kamakura of New Year is crowded than usual.
2023年5月18日 · I prefer to buy the luggage in Kyoto since I have the rental car. But if Osaka offers better value then I might consider buying from there. But need to carry the new luggage by hand and going on the metro. I am considering getting the LOJEL CUBO FIT which is quite big. Any tips greatly appreciated.

As the earlier poster answered, your “port of entry” will be the airport (or sea port) you use to “enter Japan,” so it will be (for example if you fly) Narita, Haneda, Kansai, Chubu airport, etc. Where you “come through” before entering Japan is irrelevant. by AK.
