If Black Rainstorm Warning is issued during the HKWP opening hours, the Visitor Centre will remain open but the Wetland Reserve will be closed temporarily.
Habitats. The freshwater marshes are located at the centre of the Park with some 10 hectares in size. The marshes consist of different habitats, including open water to attract ducks and ardeids; shallow water to encourage feeding by waders; marshes for shy waterbirds; and islands for roosting of ducks and rails.

The Hong Kong Wetland Park consists of a 10,000 m 2 Visitor Centre and a 60-hectare outdoor reserve, visitors can plan their trip flexibly. A walk around the whole park usually takes 4 hours to a whole day, visitors may wish to take a look at our "Suggested Routes" section for route suggestions.

When the Visitor Centre's car park is full, please use our overflow car park. Drivers may also park their cars or coaches at nearby public car parks and take about 15 minutes' walk to the Park. For coaches, please also use our overflow car park which is free-of-charge for tour groups visiting the park on the day.
