妙法寺は、地下鉄「唐人町駅」から徒歩7分くらいのところ黒門川通り沿いにある日蓮宗の大きなお寺です。7月の早朝に唐人町近辺の寺院巡りを行った時に参拝しました。大きな山門が参拝者を迎えてくれます。

谷中のヒマラヤ杉にもほど近い広い境内のお寺です。入り口には大きな石碑に南無妙法蓮華経と刻まれていて、一見して日蓮宗のお寺だとわかりました。
都営地下鉄牛込柳町駅から至近距離にあるお寺で、立派な山門がシンボルです。境内は狭く、本堂はごくごく一般的なお寺の造りをしていました。訪れる人もおらず静かでした。
