Mount Takao (高尾山, Takaosan) is one of the closest natural recreation areas to central Tokyo, offering beautiful scenery, an interesting temple and attractive hiking opportunities. Although outside the city center, the mountain is still located within metropolitan Tokyo and takes only 50 minutes and 430 yen to reach from Shinjuku by train.

Aside from the evergreens, vegetation will be barren. Crowds will be smaller. I think it can be a very nice walk and temple visit.

2019年1月21日 · My plan is: I arrive in Gero onsen in the morning (~10am) from Takayama. Store my lugages somewhere... Visit the city before heading to my hotel (at the other side of the city) for 1 night. Then the next day i leave Gero onsen in the morning (~10am) to Nagoya. I believe Gero onsen has coin lockers but from what i have seen on internet images ...

Searching on Google, it says there is a Campground in Takachiho called Nakayamajoseki, just South of the town. Aside from pictures, I can't find anything on this campground.
