問題： 當局在一九九一年將許可車輛總重超過1.9公噸的客貨車的車輛牌照費提高，使其與私家車的牌照費的距離拉近，藉以減少市民購買客貨車作私家車用途。 鑒於近年市面上已有多款車廂寬敞及載客較多的新款私家車出售，現時購買客貨車作私家車用途的人士較以往明顯減少。 就此，政府可否告知本會有否計劃調低客貨車的牌照費；若有，何時實施；若否，理據為何？ 答覆： 主席女士： 政府在一九九一年提高客貨車的首次登記稅和牌照費，以拉近這類車輛與私家車的差距。 在加費之前，貨車稅率和牌照費均較低，有車主因而利用這種情況，購買客貨車作私家車用途。 此舉使當局為抑制私家車數量而採取的措施，成效受到影響，導致在道路上行駛的客貨車激增，令交通擠塞的情況加劇。
