社署署長葉文娟在嘉許禮上表示，很多父母因工作或其他突發原因而未能時時刻刻照顧年幼的子女，為避免孩子被獨留在家而發生意外，社署於二 八年在六個對幼兒照顧服務需求較大的地區推行了試驗計劃，並在二 一一年十月將「鄰里支援幼兒照顧計劃」（照顧計劃）推廣至全港。 現時十八區均各有一個非政府機構營辦有關服務。 葉文娟說：「為提升服務質素，社署去年十月已強化照顧計劃，包括增加234個服務名額至總名額不少於954個；及將服務對象的年齡上限由六歲以下提高至九歲。 此外，亦增加營辦機構的撥款，以強化行政和社區保姆的培訓，為更多有需要家庭提供更好的服務。 葉文娟向出席嘉許禮的社區保姆致意，感謝他們在照顧自己家庭之餘，為有需要的鄰舍提供協助，發揮鄰里守望相助的精神。

While prices of meals out and takeaway food continued to rise relatively fast, prices of basic food edged down from a year earlier. Prices of energy-related items fell further.
