Can anyone tell me an appropriate amount to tip guides and porters for a 2d1n trek to the crater rim Mt Rinjani, or is it usually advised by the trekking company? I'm worried the many 000 of the rupiah will cause me to offer an amount that's actually not sufficient.

Do they expect tips in soles or will US$ work too? Do we tip all 3 people - the porter, cook and guide? Same amount of tip? Cheers, Vikram.
