2024年3月24日 · Bank of Taiwan （台灣銀行）, the largest lender in the country, is to raise the benchmark one-year time savings deposit rate to a 15-year-high 1.715 percent from tomorrow following a surprise central bank rate hike. The increase reflected a 12.5 basis-point key interest rate increase instituted by the central bank on Friday, Bank of Taiwan said.

2024年5月5日 · 〔記者王冠仁／台北報導〕48歲蔡姓男導遊，在中國收購投入許願池有瑕疵的50元硬幣，回台後拿硬幣去捷運站票卡加值機加值，再申請退卡退費，藉以「洗錢」；他還找弟弟幫忙，兄弟倆1年多來洗錢25萬元。 捷運警察隊清查發現蔡男存入硬幣中，有33枚偽幣，他被警方依特種詐欺罪、行使偽造貨幣罪送辦。 警方調查，蔡姓男子擔任導遊多年，常帶團到中國觀光，他在中國期間認識回收業者，這些業者專門從許願池等觀光景點，整理出磨損、缺角、生鏽等有瑕疵的台灣硬幣，再以幣值6、7折價格出售。 蔡認為有賺頭，陸續購買50元面額「瑕疵幣」返台，他起先循「正規管道」拿去台灣銀行兌換；由於這些硬幣外觀「慘不忍睹」，銀行要先送驗辨別真偽，每枚50元硬幣鑑定手續費是7元。
