As a village, Wombourne has loads going for it, good shops, lovely surrounding countryside and fantastic amenities i.e a leisure centre (with pool) within walking distance, a library and plenty of pleasant cafe’s/coffee shops. It also has pleasant pubs within walking distance and of course it’s own cricket ground and floodlit tennis courts.
Move forward to the twentieth century and the emergence of pits around the town, and you have the purpose built Mill Hill pit estate, made redundant since the miners strike and spiritual home of the East Kent ****.

Prestonpans or as locals say ‘the Paaans’ has got to be the most miserable lot in east Lothian. The people here are half baked, miserable, bitter, and as sour faced as Andrew Lloyd Webber licking on a nettle. The gossip mongering is off the scale -men and women and nobody has a life.
Spalding – As Bad as it Sounds. East Midlands Lincolnshire. Spalding is a medium sized market town in South Lincolnshire. That’s all I can positively say about it.
