Yes, we've been using it exclusively in Tokyo, taka Yama, kyoto and osaka. It won't tell you which machine to buy tickets from though! 😀. Besides Google Maps, you might want to try Japan Travel by NAVITIME or Japan Transit Planner. It can be helpful when searching for transfer.
2018年6月23日 · 10 votes, 34 comments. true For people travelling in Tokyo, most the hotels in popular tourist areas seem to have the free " Tokyo Handy Map" its a bit on the large side when fully opened, but its nice to sit down with a drink and circle the things/places you want to visit and locate the nearest station, plus its a nice keepsake from your trip.

I’ve never been a heavy Apple Maps user and used it mostly just for playing around, but with the change over at Google and improved usability with Apple, I’m probably going to change my navigation preferences over to Apple. 2016年5月31日 · I have a physical copy of the map, and it appears in the app as well but never in its entirety online. To date, this is the best railway map of Tokyo I could find. I extracted the files from the app and pieced together 108 separate files to reform the complete railway
Its a game changer. Very accurate and useful. Google translate and maps are your best friends in Japan. Do not go on an earlier train than the time told on Google maps. Also, if you’re late maps will recalculate for you on the next best train time 😀. Route planning - great. Giving accurate transfer times - not great.
