Hi tira2011, if your search is leaving you in a maze of confusion-- then I suggest you pop into the celco shops of "3 HK" or "1010(one2free)" or SmarTone Vodafone. "3" and 1010 has their respective shops at HKIA,though at departure check in hall.
Try 7-11 or any of the mobile phone shops like Smartone-Vodafone, Peoples, 123, etc. Using these sim cards should be much more economical than global roaming. Report inappropriate content

with Smartone Vodafone you get free IDD call(i.e charged at rate like calling a local call) to fixed line Australia- their Great Value Prepaid Sim card. As advised, other celcos also has free IDD call, and you have to find out if Australia is on the list.
As for your prepaid SIM card, I do know that SmarTone-Vodafone has a Good!Talk Stored-value SIM card which you buy at HKD80 and has that amount of talk time and also provides for free IDD calls to Singapore (fixed and mobile)lines. You are charged a normal local flat rate which is HKD0.25/mins.
