2024年8月20日 · Aug 20, 2024, 7:57 PM. Hi all...My dream has been to visit Kyoto. I have the opportunity after a 3 week visit in Vietnam, to spend 2 weeks in Japan. My husband and I are in our early 70s and long travel days take a lot out of us. Therefore, a 10-14 day stay in Kyoto with day trip to Osaka, Nara is what we are thinking.

2024年8月31日 · Re: destination. Sep 1, 2024, 12:20 AM. Shirakawago for a 1/2 day and then moving onto Kanazawa for 1.5 days (so 2 nights there) is the most logical plan. From Kanazawa, it's a straightforward Shinkansen ride to Tokyo. But if those places are in your plans already, then other spots to look into are:
2024年8月25日 · It’s just different preferences. If you know you don’t enjoy crowds and/or temples or shrines even without crowds then Kyoto might not be the right choice. We won’t be going there on our 3rd trip, because we just don’t enjoy the crowds plus the transport situation in Kyoto plus the masses of western tourists.
