We have 2 nights in Nagano in early January, and I'm looking for a little help or feedback on the plans to date. We are a family of 4 with a 15yo and 11yo.This is our 3rd trip to Japan, 1st time in the Nagano area.

July and August are traditionally the months with the most regular snow but it has become much less predictable in recent years so there are no guarantees. If there is snow be prepared to be flexible with your schedule in case there are delays with road closures.

Have many friends going to be in the area of downtown, Versailles. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions for renting a studio for a few months.

You position yourselves where there is minimum urban lighting, which is a worry because of the hazards of driving where there is nocturnal wildlife, and Tasmania has plenty.
