2024年6月1日 · 《MacRumors》引述市場傳聞報導，蘋果計畫今年就會推出第7代iPad Mini，預計8.3吋大小與全螢幕設計仍維持不變，具有指紋辨識功能的電源鍵也會保留，不過會更換螢幕零件供應商，以擺脫捲動畫面時惱人的「果凍效應」。 報導說，iPad Mini 7不會配備與Pro和Air同樣的M系列處理器晶片，不過很可能使用iPhone 15的A17 Pro系列晶片，甚至A18。 據信iPad Mini 7除了推出新顏色，前鏡頭也會如Air般移到長邊中間，方便橫向擺放時視訊，另外會支援Wi-Fi 6E、藍芽5.3，同時取消SIM卡槽改採eSIM。 第6代Mini支援Apple Pencil 2，因此Mini 7可能會支援新上市的Apple Pencil Pro，同時加入6代沒有的懸浮功能。
