James Arlington Wright (December 13, 1927 – March 25, 1980) was an American poet. Life. James Wright was born and spent his childhood in Martins Ferry, Ohio. His father worked in a glass factory, and his mother in a laundry. Neither parent had received more than an eighth grade education.
