為進一步了解客戶的認知度，滙豐銀行在2020年2月對1,005名18-55歲的香港人進行調查，並制定了一個網絡安全指數（範圍為0-100），當中包括三個主要指標：知識，行為和態度。 我們的發現，極具啟發性： 知識高分， 行為卻令人擔心。 香港人網絡安全知識的平均得分為 73 分， 但行為的平均分則只有 68 。 更驚人的是， 66％ 受訪者原來在多個平台使用同一密碼，令洩露數據的危機大增！ 數碼達人 ≠ Cyber Smart. 雖然 Z世代（18-24歲） 在知識和態度上得分最高，但在行為上卻得分最低！ 有知識，卻不去實踐。 他們傾向會進行風險高的活動，當中包括: 不細閱條款及細則便授予許可權、在通訊軟件或雲端對話中分享個人信息、使用公共wifi登入網上銀行、忽略可疑的登錄警報等等。
