Day 4 - Tokyo to Kyoto train , rest of the day in Kyoto. Day 5 - Kyoto. Day 6 - Kyoto. Day 7 - Nara - Day trip , back to Kyoto.

From a tourist perspective, 1/1 is the day you truly need to find something to do. Therefore, check individual attraction closing days.

Many Japanese will have 3 days off from the 12th to 14th October. You would be better to pay attention it when you make your itinerary. Edited: 9:24 pm, May 15, 2024.
