2024年2月8日 · 【明報文章】香港經濟經歷了失落的5年（a lost half-decade），過去5年裏有兩年出現萎縮；去年本地生產總值（GDP）的增長，勉強彌補了2022年的3.5%驚人收縮。 由於中國內地經濟需設法應付高額債務（尤其是房地產業）、產能過剩和需求不足、通縮壓力及資產價值持續下跌等問題，未來幾年香港經濟或會維持緩慢增幅。 因此，作為香港及內地經濟健康狀况晴雨表的恒生指數，近期僅僅高於1997年7月1日水平，也就不令人意外了。 自2008至2009年環球金融危機及新冠疫症以來，世界經濟發生了劇變。 當下本港經濟困境應該引發人們深刻反思，香港需要做什麼去保持其在全球經濟裏的相關性（relevance）。
