2007年6月30日 · Epoxy is supposedly better for gap filling (which is great for some of my joints) and one doesn't have to clamp like for Titebond. But I do know from reading and personal experience that epoxy is more susceptible to breaking from shock. I don't like the fact that the epoxy broke at the glue joint.
Hey all, I have some damage to the end of a slab that I would like to preserve with epoxy instead of cutting the damage off. I have tried this before on small sample pieces and I am not getting the result I'm looking for. I want the finished result to be a clear epoxy fill that is smooth and level with the rest of the slab.

2019年1月8日 · 01-09-2019, 02:01 PM. To avoid bubbles make sure the freshly epoxied piece is cooling down not warming up. In other words, don't turn the heat on in the shop a half hour before making the pour then leave it on continuing to warm the piece as you try and get the epoxy to harden. That'll drive air out of the wood.
2021年3月9日 · Alumilite Clear Slow - is a poly-urethane resin that should be cast under pressure, to reduce any small bubbles to un-noticeable. It all depends what it is you want to make. Personally I use Alumilite Clear Slow, and I have a Princess Auto Pressure Pot. I let my blanks sit for at least 1-2 hours at 60psi.

We all know what happens then. to prevent this attack of the swelling wood fibers, I would suggest you laminate with contact Cement similare to laminating Formica.

I haven't worked with Ipe before but I am aware there is some toxicity when cutting/sanding and I will take precautions. There seems to be conflicting opinions when it comes to gluing. 2016年1月11日 · Epoxy is the "glue" I'd use too but rough up the plastic and get any "shine" off the surface. I recently fixed a whistle for a friend and used JB Plastic Bonder to attach a new wood tube to the plastic body. It is a 2-part epoxy and likely most any epoxy would work.
2021年10月2日 · I recently finished a cherry wood coffee table with Osmo. I put on a couple coats and noticed that from certain angles and with bright light that there is some streaking. From most angles it looks perfect, but from other angles it's not great. I think part of the problem was that I didn't wipe it down enough after applying.
