Head Porter are more expensive. Tokyo has more shops carrying porter brand, but hokkaido 's shops had more stock available. I seem to have seen Porter bags being sold in Chitose airport duty free...and THOSE were definitely about 10% cheaper than usual.
Save. These bags are always sold at list price everywhere. You can get tax free at most department stores and specialty stores. Certain department stores and tokyu hands hand out 5% discount cards to tourists. Some tax free stores do not charge handling fees and these would be places you get the largest discounts.

Are credit cards accepted everywhere - where are they not accepted? Will taxis take them? Same question but for debit cards. I heard that taxis are very expensive. How expensive for example?
Also, Muji has a much bigger selection of various design goods in Japan, then their shops overseas. The best Muji shops to visit is the mega shop at Yurakucho or the shop in Roppongi Midtown. Many Japanese are crazy for bags. There is a local brand called Porter which is a product of the Yoshida Bag company.

Basic adult admission is 1,000 yen; that's less than USD $10. You should be carrying at least that amout of yen in cash for snacks and unplanned purchases.
