As of 30 June 2018, membership stood at 42,612, up from 41,332 last year, including 5,571 fellow members. There were 4,769 practising members at that date, up from 4,627 last year. The number of member practices has also grown from 1,838 in 2017 to 1,861 in 2018, including 575 corporate practices.
The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (the Institute) is the only body authorized by law to register and grant practising certificates to certified public accountants in Hong Kong. The Institute has more than 42,000 members and more than 18,000 registered students.
