  1. 2017年11月17日 · Previously I have only used MP4 files in Shotcut. I now have some old films converted to digital and they are .vob files. Windows Media Player opens and plays them ok. Shotcut opens them but only plays the first 20 secs on some and freezes on others. I have the latest version 17-11-07 on a Windows 10 64 bit machine., Does Shotcut not work with .vob as input files? Thanks.

  2. 2017年12月1日 · I have 2 videos (abt 17.75min -1Gb & **15min - 0.9Gb) on hard drive. I can load and can watch in Shotcut. I tried a ‘default’ convert to mp4 but those cannot be read / presented with std Windows Viewer. 2nd attempt started creating an enormous file multi Gb. 3. 2022年7月28日 · I’ve been using SHOTCUT for some months now. I’m systematically converting my family video DVD’s to MP4 (H.264) but I have found I can’t import my (non macrovision protected) .vob files fully into SHOTCUT. I only get 15 minutes or so of a 29 minute file to load into SHOTCUT. I’m running the latest version as of September 2017.

  4. 2018年6月25日 · I’ve noticed that shotcut plays the MP4 perfectly, while the DV file stutters and drops audio. Does shotcut not support DV formats well, or maybe just need a more powerful system. QuickSync it would save a lot of encoding time if using mp4. Any suggestion would be great. I usually use AviDemux Yadif x2 for deinterlacing.

  5. 2021年2月8日 · If you did wanted to capture from VHS (because the vob files are a bad transfer or the cd is samaged) your best choice would be something like this https://amzn.to/2LDEbZ4 and you’d have to play back in Realtime to record using obs or shotcut but any PC with a usb port should be able to capture it. 6. 2017年9月28日 · I use WINFF to convert the the .vob files to basic .MP4. It does the job quickly and renders it to a smaller file size - typically 264 Mb - for a .vob file that begins as a 1 Gb file. I also experience synching issues when doing this. Can anyone shine a light on this whereby I can import the .vob file into SHOTCUT without losing half the file.

The must-haves: 1) retain resolution (1080p), 2) retain frame rate. The clip is about 5 minutes long and, in MP4, comes out to about 1.25 Gb; significantly less than the 4.3 Gb limit on single layer DVD’s.

  9. 2023年11月18日 · Crashes when I drag&drop (via thunar 4.18.7 to shotcut) from an smb mount. I tested over SMB on Ubuntu 22.04 (but not using thunar) using the file you provided, and it is working fine for me. Since the file is read OK from disk or NFS this suggests that the problem is not in Shotcut, MLT, or FFmpeg.
