2024年3月2日 · Wechat Apps for tourist sites. Mar 2, 2024, 4:16 AM. Hi, I'll be travelling in China in April and just got my wechat set up. Now I wonder how to find the right mini apps to buy tickets for tourist sites beforehand, I think this might be needed in tianmen mountain or Suzhou gardens - given my non existing mandarin skills?
WeChat is a communication apps mainly used in China but not really popular in Hong Kong unless you have a (somewhat strong) tied with China... in your case it might be useful if you need to contact your son's friend who is currently in China.

- Your son's friend is definitely not correct. Cash is still king in both HK and China. e-Payment methods such as WeChat or Paypal is not common.

2024年4月11日 · Answer 1 of 30: I have been reading a lot about WeChat on this forum. And, a hotel that I am staying in has suggested that I use it while in China. Do I really need this app? It sounds complicated to get set up.
2024年4月11日 · 2- download wechat free app, unlimited worldwide free messages, phone calls, FaceTime, video, anywhere. Both sides must have wechat on smartphones and wifi. Everybody in China has wechat, you'll need to have the app sooner or later.
You can download a wechat app international version or use the email to sign up firstly if you are not in China. Text, call and video are free under WIFI. If you are not under WIFI, please pay attention to your data plan when you are using video call.
