Wellington College exists to provide young people with the knowledge, skills and character to fulfil their potential and serve the changing world in which they will live.
Wellington College is one of the UK’s — and indeed the world’s — great coeducational boarding and day schools. The College is set in 400 acres of beautiful parkland and is home to a blend of breathtaking original architecture and modern state-of-the-art facilities to provide the best possible educational environment for our pupils.
Every year, around 260 new pupils join Wellington at a number of different stages. From 2025, our new pupils will be 50% boys and 50% girls. 80% join as boarders and 20% travel to the College each day as day-pupils.
The College is situated in Crowthorne about 35 miles to the South West of London and can be reached by road from either the M3 or M4. Crowthorne railway station enjoys direct rail links to Reading and Guildford, and our closest airports are Heathrow (around 30 minutes’ drive) and Gatwick (just over an hour).

Wellington is whole-heartedly committed to this twin-track Sixth Form curriculum, and both pathways are academically rigorous, internationally recognised and valued by universities and employers. Neither is inherently more or less difficult nor more suited to strong or weak pupils.
In the May 2024 examination session, Wellington College had a huge cohort of 120 students who achieved an average of 38.4 points, with a core average of 2.3. These outcomes place the College well above both the Global and UK averages.
Visitors Days are the most popular way of visiting Wellington. These events take place on Saturday mornings at 10.30am and provide an easy and effective way of conducting a first visit to the College.
