I'd like to explore some "contemporary culture" while in Japan and someone mentioned Hello Kitty World. Would this be worth a visit as an adult or is it mainly aimed at kids? Hello Kitty seems to be so popular in Asia - among adults as much as kids - that I thought it might be interesting.

Hello Kitty Town Johor is an INDOOR theme park...absolutely NO outdoor facilities. Its a 4 storey bldg with Hello Kitty theme park at level 1 & 2 and Little Big club at level 3 & 4. The ticket booth is at level 1. There is a Souvenir shop and a Red Bow cafe at level

Make sure you buy a joint ticket for HKI and the N-Tower, it's a lot cheaper then. I think for the average HK fan you will need maybe 30 minutes to see everything, as a die-hard you might want to spend a bit longer here. What this attraction basically tries to show is how a Hello Kitty flat looks like.
