It is owned by Chris Blackwell. 1994 - I thought it was opened later than that. I remember it being built. We walked from SamSara one day to our friend's place on Hylton Ave and by the time we walked back the property was completely fenced with chain link (it was unfenced and wide open as I recall before that).
12 years ago. Appleton is definitely the most well known rum of Jamaica but the Wray and Nephew overproof is the most popular with Jamaicans. I hear they use it for everything, drinking, cleaning, polishing...a rum of many talents. I've heard that Chris Blackwell has a good rum out in Jamaica as well.
