A woman is an adult female human. Before adulthood, a woman is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent). Typically, women are of the female sex and inherit a pair of X chromosomes, one from each parent, and fertile women are capable of pregnancy

2023年2月28日 · “Woman,” on the other hand, is a noun that refers to adult human females. This definition explicitly recognizes “human” as a co-requisite to being a woman. While anything can be a female, only humans can have the status of “woman.”
