2023年12月1日 · Rota, 1 December 2023 – The European Union Naval Force Operation (EUNAVFOR) ATALANTA has successfully tackled the alleged piracy-related incident involving the Iranian-flagged fishing boat “AL-MERAJ 1” off the coast of Somalia. The EUNAVFOR action has included the transfer of the last known position of the fishing boat to the Somali police forces.
He was promoted to Rear Admiral on the 1st January 2024. Since 8th January 2024, Rear Admiral Dousson serves, in Rota, as Deputy Commander of EUNAVFOR Operation ATALANTA. Éric Dousson holds an engineering degree from the French Naval Academy (1993) and a diploma in Advanced Military Studies from French War College (2006).

The position of the event initially was 600NM east of Mogadishu, Somalia. The last know position is 0641N-04719E where the vessel is anchored.
2023年2月11日 · Djibouti, 11 February 2023 – Italian Rear Admiral Francesco Saladino assumes command of the 46th rotation as Force Commander of the European Naval Force (EUNAVFOR) Operation ATALANTA. He takes command of Task Force 465 from Portuguese Commodore Rogério Paulo Figueira Martins de Brito who was in command since 03 December 2023.
