2022年7月13日 · 謝展寰今日在立法會會議上回答陳月明議員的提問時說，本港現時每日需要處理約11,000公噸都市固體廢物和4,000公噸建築廢物，其中都市固體廢物由新界東北堆填區和新界西堆填區負責接收。 他說，隨着I．PARK1預計於2025年投入運作，配合堆填區運作和交通配套安排，屆時需要新界兩個堆填區處理的都市固體廢物預計每日可減少約3,000公噸，而I．PARK2投入運作後，新界東北堆填區更將會完全停止接收都市固體廢物。 謝展寰指出，由於廢物產生量會隨經濟貿易和人口增長而增加，I．PARK1和I．PARK2以外，當局估計很有可能需要建設I．PARK3，才可達致零廢堆填的目標。 他又指，環保署正展開全港性選址研究，物色其他適合興建更多轉廢為能設施的地點。
