A significant number of tourists use a pocket WiFi when touring Japan. Personally I think data connectivity is essential, whether you do that via a SIM or pocket WiFi depends on various factors. I usually go for WiFi as there are 3 of us who will be together for the vast majority of time.

2024年8月29日 · I'm going back to Japan (Osaka-Namba) for my 5th time and will just rely on TMO and hotel wifi (or any other public wifi) while out during my stay there. I'll be in Japan for less than 3 days while the rest of my days I'll be in SKorea.
