I've travelled to Japan twice around this time, including Tokyo, Takayama and Kyoto, and I'm Australian. You should have no problems with the temperatures and you might even find Takayama rather cool in the evening. Kyoto could be a bit humid, but no worse than Sydney and definitely better than northern Queensland.

The trip covers classic route for the first-time visitors: Tokyo - Kyoto - Osaka - Hiroshima - Fukuoka with staying for a few days in each location to explore them a bit.
Current weather in Japan. 1 year ago. We are heading off to Japan on a long awaited trip on Sunday 6th November, visiting Tokyo, Kanazawa, Takayama and Kyoto. We had expected the weather to be coolish, but it seems that temperatures are still in the mid twenties some days.
