Going to visit Shenzhen soon from HK and would like to have everything set up. I have installed WeChat and registered but I am totally missing "wallet" and "services" menus.
I have about 400RMB in my WeChat Wallet at the moment with a Canadian credit card attached to the account. At this point in time, I know that I can't pay for anything at retailers that accept WeChat Pay because I've tried once before, and it didn't work (Yes there are plenty of retailers that accept WeChat Pay and AliPay now in Canada).

I have a couple of queries regarding making payments in China.... 1) I have a 'WeChat' account but can't figure out how 'WeChat pay' is accessed? 2) I also set up Alipay linked to my Wise account but cannot validate using my Australian mobile number.

Has anyone successfully installed either Wechatpay or Alipay as a foreigner, i.e. NO local mobile #, bank account or address, and with a foreign debit card or credit card since the July 2023 announcement that they allow linking with foreign Credit and Debit card ?

1. Re: Wechat pay. Yes, If you can recharge your WeChat wallet, you can use WeChat to make payment in many shops and supermarkets in China . 2. Re: Wechat pay. Yes, just show your QR code. But credit card can't used in many cases, not same as debit card. 3.
