Cancellations. Refunds for exams up to 31 July 2023. To support anyone affected by COVID restrictions, for all face-to-face instrumental and singing or Grade 6 to 8 Music Theory exams, any absent candidate will automatically receive a full refund. This applies worldwide.
We provide a range of assessments for musicians of all ages and at all levels, from the Prep Test and Initial Grade for beginners to advanced-level diplomas in Performance, Teaching and Directing. Assessments are available for instrumentalists and singers, including Singing for Musical Theatre, Jazz and Drum Kit.
Practical Grades are face-to-face exams that focus on all-round musical knowledge and skills, including performance. Exams are available at Grades 1 to 8. In the exam you perform three accompanied songs and one unaccompanied song, as well as taking sight-singing and aural tests.
About Percussion assessments. We offer a range of assessments for percussionists learning the snare drum, timpani, tuned percussion and combined percussion. These include Practical Grades and Performance Grades at Grades 1 to 8 and Music Performance diplomas for advanced musicians. Read on to find out more.
