6 天前 · This time our proposed bases are: — Nikko. — Aizuwakamatsu. — Sendai. — Kakunodate. — Aomori. — Otaru. — Sapporo. Are each of these cities interesting enough to justify as bases? I feel bad skipping Fukushima City and Morioka, but we haven’t found anything (so far) that draws us to them.

Options are Nikko or Kaga-Onsen with the hope of catching fall colours, quality onsen/ryokan, culture and food (last is most important!). Nikko getting Kinugawa Koen/Onsen ryokans.
5 天前 · 1) The exchange area is inside the gates, in the new part of the station (just before the shinkansen gates). So if you're entering from outside the station and you don't already have some kind of ticket to get through the gates, you'll need to get an entry ticket from the staff at the first gate.
