We will be arriving end of October 2024 to Osaka and have 4 nights, then 5 days hiking the Kumano Kodo trail. Next Miyajima Island for 1 night then Hiroshima 1 night, maybe 2. Kyoto 3/4 nights and then our last stop will be Tokyo.

Day 1 head for Hakone Shrine, have lunch, Narukawa Museum (Japanese paintings) if you'd like to, Ashinoko Cruise, ropeway might be the first day. Day 2 Hakone Open Air Museum and Tozan Train back to Hakone Yumoto sounds like the plan.

I've been hanging to visit Aso for yeeears, and I'll finally be in the area in a few days. 1) It's a mad trip for me (can't drive) and wonder if the 1 km-radius lookouts are worth going at all. 2) Any ideas when it will reopen?
