Before our trip I spent time browsing this forum and it was very helpful. What follows are a few tips and comments regarding our experience with various forms of transportation while there.

We are 2 adults + 2 kids ( 6/11). we wish to cover Otaru ,Biei, Sapporo and nearby places with activities for kids like farm visit,fruit picking, factory visits ,adventure,snow,culture,nature.

Our booking is flexible, so I am trying to determine whether to go to Miyajima as a day trip, or cancel one night in Hiroshima and book a night in Miyajima. We are near Shinjuku Higashi train station currently and planning to go to Hakone tomorrow. After doing some research, seems like best way is to go early to Odakyu Sighseeing Service Center at Shinjuku station and get Hakone free pass.
