5 天前 · 公共房屋. 照顧特殊需要. 長者住屋類型. 目前房屋委員會為高齡人士提供的租住公屋主要有兩類，分別為長者住屋及小型獨立單位。 長者住屋. 房屋委員會 (房委會)所建的「長者住屋」最初是為單身長者申請人而設，至九十年代末期開始，由於公共租住房屋申請人偏好獨立單位，故「長者住屋」的空置率一直高企。 因此，房委會在2000年通過停止興建「長者住屋」，並在2001年全面放寬入住「長者住屋」的年齡限制，以期把空置的「長者住屋」盡量租出。 其後，有見這類院舍式住所的需求逐漸縮減，房委會遂於2006年起實施逐步轉型計劃，把空置率偏高的一型設計「長者住屋」改建作其他用途。 為便利改建過程，自2009年起房委會已停止編配一型設計「長者住屋」單位。 現時，房屋委員會已沒有提供只供長者入住的特別住屋單位。
