We are a couple in our 50's and want to enjoy the culture, landscapes and perhaps engage in two or three traditional activities like tea making, calligraphy or sword making.
6 天前 · Planning to travel to Hiroshima and Nagasaki. So far, I can see from the JR website that San-in Northern Kyushu pass can cover both places, for 26k yen, 7 day pass. I also checked that a 1 way discounted tourist ticket from Fukuoka ( Hakata station) to Hiroshima is 6,300 yen, while to Nagasaki its around 4,000 yen.
6 天前 · I'm looking for a ryokan with onsite or nearby facilities to chillax, enjoy delicious traditional multi-course dinner, stay one night, and eat a hearty Japanese breakfast the next morning. Since the flight leaves at midnight, I plan for a last-minute half day either in Kobe or Nara on way back to Tokyo airport.

I was on the mainisland, kyushu including yakushima, hokkaido and Ishigaki. And it was a blast. So I decided to travel to Japan again this year for an additional 4 weeks and check out areas I've not been so far.
6 天前 · Hi, I am planning to visit Hokkaido in late August. Is my itinerary okay? Day 1- arrived Sapporo in around 2pm then sightseeing in Sapporo. Day 2- Nijo Market & Mt Moiwa. Day 3- Train to Otaru. Day 4- Take rental car and drive to Furano, Biei and Asahikawa. Stay overnight at Asahikawa.
6 天前 · We have a car and don't mind long drives. I thought we would base ourselves in either Biei or Furano for two nights. There doesn't seem to be much of a range of accommodation in the Daisetsuzan National Park . I was looking at Chill Village in Biei - not sure if anyone has stayed there or has other recommendations.
