Please have a look my initial itinerary and let me know your thoughts/suggestions :) - 1 night, Narita Airport. I am arriving late after a long flight. - 3 nights, Tokyo. - 3 nights, Kyoto incl. one full day trip to Nara.

Just wondering, just preliminary planning, looking to spend 3.5 days in Kyoto the taking the train to Tokyo. Not planning on "day trips" from Kyoto, just concentrate on Kyoto proper. If you had a choice would you stay in the Gion area or Kyoto Station area?
